Stacey Dash, the actress best known for playing Dionne Davenport in the 1990s teen movie “Clueless,” filed campaign documents Monday to run for California’s 44th Congressional district, according to Federal Election Commission documents.
Dash is challenging freshman incumbent Congresswoman Nanette Barragán (D-CA).
Hillary Clinton defeated Donald Trump in the South Los Angeles-based 44th district by a whopping 71-point margin, 83%-12%. In 2012, Obama also won the seat by 71 percentage points.
This district is completely safe for Barragán, but give Dash credit for at least contesting the seat. She is the first Republican to file to run here since 2010.
