President Trump’s Approval Rating Hits 50 Percent

A new Rasmussen Reports poll shows President Donald Trump’s approval rating at 50 percent with 49 percent disapproving of his job performance.

This is the president’s highest Rasmussen job approval rating since June 2017.

Since President Donald Trump gave his widely praised 2018 State of the Union speech on January 30, five different polling organizations have found his approval rating at 43% or higher.

According to Rasmussen, President Obama had a 45 percent approval rating on this date in the second year of his presidency.

The latest figures include 34% who Strongly Approve of the way the president is performing and 41% who Strongly Disapprove.

The latest RealClearPolitics average shows Trump with an average 42% approval rating and 54% disapproval rating. The latest FiveThirtyEight average shows Trump with an average 40% approval rating and 54% disapproval rating.

Rasmussen collects results through telephone surveys of 500 likely voters per night and reports them on a three-day rolling average basis. The margin of error for 1,500 Likely Voters is +/- 2.5 percentage points with a 95 percent level of confidence.
