Republican Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn will likely be elected United States Senator this November based on a new WPA Intelligence-Committee to Defend the President poll conducted last week.

If incumbent Senator Bob Corker, who has been extremely critical of President Donald Trump, decides to change his mind and run for re-election, he would lose to Blackburn 55%-26%, an enormous 29-point margin. Club for Growth, a fiscally conservative advocacy group, has endorsed Blackburn and celebrated the poll’s results.

In terms of favorability among Republican voters, Blackburn has a significant lead over Corker. Sixty-percent had a favorable view of Congresswoman Blackburn, while just 41 percent viewed the two-term incumbent positively. A very-high 47 percent of Republican respondents had negative views of Corker. Only 10 percent of Republican primary voters had an unfavorable opinion of Blackburn.

As far as the general election matchup, Blackburn leads popular former Democratic Governor Phil Bredesen 44%-39%, a 5-point margin, in this deep red state that Trump won 61%-35%, a 26-point margin of victory.

Meanwhile, Bredesen polls extremely well against Corker. Bredesen actually leads Corker 44%-35%, a 9-point lead for the Democrat in this red state.

Blackburn is not only more conservative than Corker, she is significantly more electable than him.

This poll is good news for President Trump, who has feuded with Corker extensively.

The survey surveyed 500 likely voters and an additional 400 Republican primary voters. It had a margin of error of plus or minus 4.4 percentage points.
